About us

Our Story

The Freedom Centre story is simple, to help lead many into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From the beginning Freedom Centre has focused on making disciples through the presence of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We have now grown to over 750 regularly attending our gatherings, an increasing number of weekly small groups and a thriving School of Ministry. All this to support the vision to see people Encounter God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference.

We also belong to a large ministry with thousands of people worldwide coming under the Freedom Centre banner. These include churches, schools, hospitals and clinics and bible college’s through Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Rwanda.

Five Fold Pillars

The Five FolD

The core structure of our Church is based off the Five Fold structure based around Ephesians 4:11. "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ"

OUR VALUES

Our core values define who we are. They are not just what we do, they are part of our DNA.
These are non-negotiable values to live by for our staff, leaders and members.

01

Presence:
Our Pursuit

All that matters is that He shows up. From our worship to our service we do it with His presence in mind. When God is in the room, all kinds of life change happens.

02

Family:
Our Function

The kingdom of God is not a business, it is a family of sons and daughters living in relationship with their heavenly Father. The Church is a covenant family.

03

Discipleship:
Our Mandate

Every believer is called to make disciples. It may look different for everyone, but one thing remains, we want real relationships that create real disciples who then go and make more disciples.

What we Believe

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
  • We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
  • We believe that sin separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
  • We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the “new birth”, we must repent of our sins and place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
  • We believe that in order to live the life that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
  • We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and holy communion
  • We believe that Jesus, the same yesterday today and forever still heals, performs miracles and is actively involved in the life of the believer.
  • We believe that our eternal destination of either eternal union with God or eternal separation from God is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
  • We believe marriage is a gift from God that is designed for one man and one woman. Sexuality should only be expressed in the context of that marriage covenant.
